Easy on the eye and full of vibrant colour
Angie Wilson exhibits in Joburg
Angie Wilson, a South African by birth, is showing her recent body of work from 1st to 3rd December at a venue in Craighall Park Johannesburg. Now London-based, Wilson exhibits her work here and in South Africa and has shown at The Mall Galleries, The Affordable Art Fair, The Brighton Art Fair as well many English galleries. Her work is in several international collections.
Painting in acrylic and using a bright palette, her subject matter reflects her extensive travels to locations like India, the Mediterranean and the south of France. Her paintings with their bright washes of hue and structured stylizations of form are figurative: landscapes, still lives and human figures. Easy on the eye and energetically decorative, they speak of a gentle, sun-drenched colourful world.
The exhibition takes place at 6 Grafton Ave Craighall Park (opposite Giles restaurant at Ailsa Craig B&B) with the preview on Thursday 1st December at 6pm. Viewings 11-4 on Friday 2nd Dec and 10-4 on Saturday 3rd .
