18 September  – Public Art walk with Guest Artist Marcus Neustetter .

Mainstreetwalks is a concept that encourages people to rediscover the inner City and ultimately Johannesburg. The best way to explore these spaces, like any other city in the world, is by foot and public transport.  These guided tours start westwards from Arts on Main and navigate a way around the City using the new Rea Vaya, Bus Rapid Transport system (BRT).   Rea Vaya, which means “we are going”, offers fast, safe and affordable public transport on a network of routes across JHB. Like all people who are passionate about the City, those who live and work there, the MainStreetWalkers know that there are endless possibilities that exist for exploring the CBD.  They say: “The City offers spaces and places that are full of charm, interest and history”.

Public Art Walk

The walk on the weekend  from 9:30-13:00 will be a combination of walking and riding on the  BRT.  There’s lots of incredible art in the inner City. The tour also provides a unique insight into the relationship between art and justice.
