Vovo Telo: A new addition to the 4th Ave Parkurst pavement chill

The service might be a little slow when it’s busy but the prices are VERY reasonable.  Plus if they are full, they take your name and phone you when they have a table ready for you.  This means you can wander off and do some browsing in some of the funs shops along 4th Ave.  Not many restaurants will do that. Thumbs up to Vovo Telo. See   http://www.jhblive.com/reviews/coffee%20shop%20/%20cafe/vovo_telo_bakery_&_caf%C3%A9/84799

Get to know Jozi Inner City better with Mainstreetartwalks: Art and Justice tour on 18th Sept

Launching 17 September 2011 with Art and Justice Tour 18 September  – Public Art walk with Guest Artist Marcus Neustetter . Mainstreetwalks is a concept that encourages people to rediscover the inner City and ultimately Johannesburg. The best way to explore these spaces, like any other city in the world, is by foot and public transport. If you have the imagination to go beyond mere tourist rubbernecking, our guided tours, which start westwards from Arts on Main, navigate a way around the City using the new Rea Vaya, Bus Rapid Transport system (BRT).

Rea Vaya, which means “we are going”, offers fast, safe and affordable public transport on a network of routes across JHB. Like all people who are passionate about the City, those who live and work there, we know that there are endless possibilities that exist for exploring the CBD. The City offers spaces and places that are full of charm, interest and history.

The walks on the weekend include:

9:30-13:00 –  A combination of walking and the BRT would be used to expose the incredible art that exists in the inner City. The tour works to provide a unique insight into the relationship between art and justice, which concept has been revolutionised by the Constitutional Court, inviting you to think about both concepts individually and as a single notion.

You will see: public art | Ghandi Monument | Albertina and Walter Sisulu monument | Paper Pigeons | Brenda Fassie statue | Kippie Moeketsi statue | Miners monument | public galleries | Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court | Constitutional Court |

Main Attractions: Ghandi Square // BRT Inner City Route // Constitutional Hill

Cost: R160, Bookings at www.mainstreetwalks.co.za
