The Slap Koejawel is a very funny short play – try to see it

The Slap Koejawel at Arts on Main

Having been to a music event at Arts on Main with friends we dropped in to have a drink nextdoor at a bar/coffee shop/informal makeshift theatre. Happily our visit co-incided with the first showing of  The slap koejawel’ . See http://www.lizatlancaster.co.za/blog/talk-the-talk-a-z-of-south-african-slang  Very very funny – clever, well scripted and acted,  and well worth seeing.  Very local humour though.

THE SLAP KOEJAWEL [adj. SLACK noun GUAVA] & OTHER TIT BITS   FOR TWO SHOWS ONLY – DIRECT FROM A HIT SEASON AT AARDKLOP FESTIVAL at the JOBURG FRINGE THEARE – SUNDAY 12 DECEMBER @ 3 & 5PM ONLY!   Tickets available at Computicket or at the door – R100 (INCL)

‘This absurdly funny and touching play brings two great actresses of Stage and Television together again – Annelisa Weiland and Vanessa Cooke.   The action finds two stressed-out actresses, of a certain age, in a tatty dressing room, preparing for the first preview of a new South African play… a work not without its problems! Can they pull it off without losing what’s left of their marbles?’
Directed by Robert Whitehead.
