We have some excellent restaurants in Craighall Park such as Cnr Cafe a couple of blocks from Liz at Lancaster and Giles the favourite spot to meet for after-work drinks. However 2 which are Craighall Park favourites are currently undergoing a revamp.
Dolci Café is a small café and bistro in Clarence Ave at the corner of Lancaster (so a five minute walk from Liz at Lancaster). Opened by Clayton and Jackie some time ago, it only opened during the day. Good news now however, it will open for dinner as well from Tuesday to Saturday. Breakfast and lunch only on Sunday and closed Monday … for a well deserved rest.
They have extended the restaurant into the next door shop so more good news is there is now additional space.
Guests at Liz at Lancaster love that they it’s a 5 minute walk at the end of the block. And they now have a license too. So it’s the perfect place to chill in the autumnal sun with a glass of chilled white wine. There’s a pleasant outdoor area shaded by umbrellas and a few tables indoors with a fabulous enveloping sofa. Free wi-fi and great coffee make this a real bolt hole to escape to for some creative work or just to have a change of scene.
So if you don’t find me at my desk, maybe check out a quiet corner in Dolci.
Casalotti’s Pizzeria Closed down And right next door is Casalotti’s who make the very best thin-crust pizza in town. Casalotti’s is a Craighall Park institution. It previously produced the most fabulous fare from their pizza ovens in a poky little shop sandwiched between a car -wash, a garage and a Shell Quickshop – not the most salubrious of locations. They have a great selection and even better as winter sets in, you can phone for a take-away and they will deliver free of charge. How convenient is that?
